On Friday, 21 November 2025, as the Church celebrated the Entry of the Virgin Mary into the Temple, the faithful of the Romanian Orthodox Parish ‘Saints Constantine the |Great and Helen’ in Bristol enjoyed an evening filled with emotion and spiritual warmth. With the blessing of His Eminence Atanasie, the Romanian Orthodox Archbishop of Great Britain and Ireland, the community hosted a concert of Christmas carols performed by the well-known artist Paula Seling, one of the most beloved voices of Romanian music.
In a serene and luminous atmosphere, parishioners, families, and children gathered to celebrate the feast and the beginning of the period of preparation for the Nativity of the Lord. Paula Seling delighted the audience with a rich selection of traditional Romanian carols, heartfelt songs, and melodies that gently announce the approaching joy of Christmas.
Her warm timbre, artistic sensitivity, and the sincerity with which she offered each piece created a moment of profound inner uplift, bringing joy and peace to all present. For an evening, the church became a space of light, communion, and shared emotion, where tradition, faith, and the beauty of the Romanian carol blended in a harmonious and blessed way.
Beyond its musical elegance, the event was a true celebration of the Romanian community in Bristol. It offered an occasion for fellowship, closeness, and the strengthening of ties among the faithful, helping preserve the traditions that keep Romanians in the diaspora connected to their roots and to the life of the Church.
The parish expresses its heartfelt gratitude to Paula Seling for her presence, professionalism, and the warmth she offered to the community, as well as to all those who supported and contributed to the success of this blessed evening.
